Please note this role will not have relocation budget and it will be based in our headquarter in Billund, Denmark.

Core Responsibilities

You will be part of the Data Governance team within the Data Office, which is a central data department at the LEGO Group. The team consists of 8 Data Specialists based in Billund and London with expertise in data ownership, data quality and business glossary. Our purpose is to build trust in and unlock the value from data - by driving Data Governance across the LEGO Group. In close alignment and collaboration with the other Data Specialists in the team, you will:

  • Contribute to and drive Data Governance forward in a specific Data Area and support them in setting the direction, making it operational and ensuring progress.
  • Guide and support operational & leadership data ownership roles across business functions and digital product teams to be successful and create value.
  • Prepare and facilitate Data Governance forums, communities, training sessions and workshops.
  • Work on development and maintenance of the Data Governance training setup and ensure data ownership roles and relevant business partners are onboarded and trained.
  • Develop and maintain communication material, presentations and process documentation.
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and implementation of the Data Governance Framework and ensure it is integrated in relevant processes and part of how we operate across the organization.
  • Contribute to the ongoing definition of requirements for the technology and solutions that support Data Governance.
  • Promote Data Governance and trusted data across the organization.

The role of the Data Office is to help unlock the value from data, across the LEGO Group. The Data Strategy is about enabling high quality data to flow seamlessly between data producers and data consumers in a Data Marketplace, to drive better and faster data-driven decisions and processes. The Data Office is also a Centre of Excellence for data science and artificial intelligence.

The Data Office builds and deploys self-serve solutions to publish data, analyse data and generate insights - with distributed data ownership and clear roles & responsibilities.

Do you have what it takes?

You come with a track-record as a practitioner in delivering and executing Data Governance in a large complex organization. Your peers recognize you as a specialist in Data Governance, who easily connects and builds trusting relationships, manage business partners and navigate across the organization. You are passionate about Data Governance as well as patient and persistent by nature. In addition, you have:

  • Change management and communication skills knowing how to demonstrate the value of Data Governance, create organizational buy-in and get the organization to understand Data Governance.
  • Skills in preparing, facilitating, and driving forums, communities, training sessions and workshops with people across various levels of the organization.
  • Business understanding with knowledge of how data ownership, data quality, data lifecycle processes etc. impacts business performance.
  • Skills in developing communication & training materials.
  • Understanding of frameworks, best practice, tools and technology for Data Governance and how to develop and implement them.
