We have an exciting opportunity for a Data Business Partner to join our AXA Commercial Data team. Using your extensive Insurance knowledge, you’ll liaise and advise between the Commercial Data team and the business in AXA Commercial, working with key stakeholders to understand their challenges and opportunities. Your role will be pivotal in translating business needs into data-driven solutions, ensuring that our data strategies align with our commercial business goals. You’ll encourage data ownership and stewardship with a view to embedding this within the business and ensure that the leadership team have the tooling to maintain a high level of data quality.

As data maturity grows, you’ll help to drive data literacy within the business through showing them innovative, forward thinking data approaches and solutions, enabled by technology and tooling provided centrally, so that the business is truly using data to drive forward against AXA Commercial’s 2024 to 2028 business strategy.

At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least 40% of your week away from home, moving to the majority of your working week from September 2025. Away from home means either attendance at one of our office locations, visiting clients or attending industry events.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Primary liaison between the Commercial Data team and the Commercial Insurance business units, communicating Commercial wide data literacy initiatives such as, training, access, and adoption of PowerBI within the business.
  • Identify and prioritise data use cases that will drive business value, ensuring that initiatives align with overall business strategy and goals.
  • Monitor and report on the impact of data-driven initiatives including value creation and benefits realisation.
  • Support the business with embedding of data ownership and stewardship principles to create responsibility and accountability within the business teams.
  • Drive strategic transformation and data agenda and conceptualise innovative strategies and solutions to demonstrate the art of the possible to the business.
  • Facilitate trade off prioritisation choices within or across the Commercial business.
  • Establish priority of business demand and creates project business cases to be approved by appropriate governing bodies.
  • Oversight of data projects and initiatives in the business, enabled by the relevant central data teams.
  • Provide input into any resolutions for major data project risks, issues, budget, and scope changes.

What you'll bring:

  • Extensive, demonstrable experience across multiple Insurance functions with a deep knowledge of Underwriting, Claims, Pricing and Operations, preferably in the Commercial sector.
  • Strong Insurance background, preferably in the Commercial sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sciences, Data Science, Statistics or a related field.
  • Proven experience across a range of data roles with a strong understanding of data analytics, data management and business intelligence.
  • Confident in explaining complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders, with the expertise to drive collaboration through communication.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying business need and opportunities, and a knowledge of how to balance strategic thinking with operational implications.
  • Data partnering experience in complex organisations with geographically dispersed employees.
  • Focus on business value needs and results over solutions, with significant experience managing, delivering, and measuring success.
  • Experience of successfully managing the data agenda, involving multiple stakeholders, from start to finish.
    Ability to manage multiple data use cases and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment, using initiative and maintaining steadfast focus on the outcome.
