As we continue our mission to make people and nature happy through chocolate, we’re looking for a Data Architect to join our IT Team on a permanent basis.
As a Data Architect for Hotel Chocolat, you will be the owner of our Business Data Model, ensuring that it delivers the progressive need with projects deployed within agreed timescales, scope and budget.
In this brand-new role for the business, you will be responsible for defining the data architecture framework, standards and principles, including modelling, security and master data. You will ensure that business data is held, transmitted and consumed in line with Data Privacy and Data Security policies, whilst guaranteeing that the responsibility for data ownership is understood in the business and sits with the relevant stakeholder.
Building and maintaining relationships with our Senior Leadership Team is vital in this role, providing proactive communication and partnerships to ensure that Hotel Chocolat data is delivering the needs of the business.
This is a diverse and exciting role for a knowledgeable Data Architect with experience of managing data compliance with the ability to transform and promote our enterprise data model.
You will be confident to assess stakeholder and strategic business requirements to shape the business data strategy, publishing and adapting as priorities emerge.
You will review both internal and external data repositories and processes and create a plan for data management that is in line with the data strategy. The strategy definition will allow for the optimisation of our data infrastructure, ensuring data is held securely, efficiently, and accessible to meet the demands of the business.
You are a proven Data Architect with a history of delivering successful data programmes. Experience of leading and implementing complex technology programmes and the inter-relationships and impacts of new solutions. Prioritising projects that drive the maximum value for a business is standard in your approach. Ideally you have experience of leading and motivating a team to maximise performance and productivity.

Here at Hotel Chocolat, we've adopted hybrid working. This means you’ll ideally join us on site for three days a week, and for the other two days – you can work from wherever you like! However, for candidates further afield, a 1-2 days on site option could be available. The on-site location for this role is our support office, ‘Mint House’, in Royston, Hertfordshire. Our home from the very beginning, it’s just off the A505 and 10 minutes’ walk from Royston train station, with direct rail links to London King’s Cross.
