Data & AI Ethics Product Owner
Responsible for driving and leading the delivery of the Ethics capabilities over the next 12-24 months across LBG Group
This includes the entire book-of-work for Data & AI Ethics
Scope is governance structures, processes and technology component delivery, aligned to an agreed Target Op Model.

And our Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) is critical in embedding these new capabilities across the Group - supporting with delivering today and preparing us for the future.
Location: London - Hybrid working 2 days per week and the rest from home.
*** The base salary banding for this role is £85,208 - £110,000, depending on experience - plus benefits outlined below ***
Where does the role sit?
We’re the Chief Data & Analytics Office (CDAO) within Lloyds Banking Group! Our mission is to promote, embed and commercialise Data & Analytics practice and culture across our business.
Implement data and artificial intelligence, ethic controls for Lloyd’s banking group.
What exactly would you focus on as a Data & AI Ethics Analyst
You’ll support the growth of LBG data capability. As part of the team, you’ll help mitigate risk and aid smooth transition to realise our data driven vision, as we transform the bank in a safe way.
You’ll be designing and building ethical workflows, technology and governance processes to ensure manage and control for ethical risks. Working collaboratively to mentor, support, and challenge on Data risk related matters and together we make it possible!
In this role your key responsibilities will include:
- Implementing Ethics-as-a-Service within LBG across all divisions
- Extending our Ethical Impact Assessment and our Data Science Life-cycle
- Advising Business teams on recommended controls for ethics
- Implementation of ML Ops best-practice on collaboration with Data Scientists
- Maturing and extending our Ethical Standards and Policies
What do we need to see from your application?
Essential
- Statistical measures of fairness and their relationship with socio-technical concerns
- Causal reasoning and Counterfactual fairness
- Shapley and LIME approaches to Explainability
- Model cards and their application
- Human-centered design and UX skills
Desirable
- Some development skills preferred in using ML toolkits (e.g. Jupyter, scikit-learn, Pandas, PyTorch, Tensorflow/Keras), as well as fairness toolkits (e.g. VertexAI, IBM AIF360 etc)
- Preferably from a Banking/Finance background, having worked alongside, Risk Control and/or Risk Model Validation teams
- Knowledge of most recent ethics Principles, Regulations and Standards from around the world.
- Ability to lead development teams, scoping work packages and defining use cases
- Knowledge and experience of model validation, model risk management and data risk
