This is an exciting opportunity to join Women in Data®, a fast-evolving and growing organisation that is championing equity, diversity and inclusion. Women in Data® has a growing community of 70,000 spanning 85+ countries and hosts the largest female data event.

This role works within a close-knit team and reports into the Communications Director. You will work alongside another Communications Officer who will be focussing on our partnerships, whilst this role focusses on our community – promoting our membership, events, opportunities and amplifies voices of our women and allies.

This is an opportunity to get a vast array of experience in all things media, marketing and communications and build a diverse portfolio of work.

You will:

Create strong, visually exciting content that fits within our brand guidelines, which may include but not be limited to graphics, videos and reels, photo editing etc.

Propose new content ideas for social media and not being shy of the latest trends, technologies and channels.

Write enticing written content using strong English writing skills, for posting and interacting on social media.

Ask questions and conduct basic research around data and tech where appropriate to ensure content is accurate and relatable.

Encouraging interaction with our community, through social-media campaigns, giveaways and new ideas.

Support Women in Data® at various events including conferences, meet-ups and our main event, some of which may be overseas. Be confident in making new connections, reaching out for interviews, quotes, content etc.

Create marketing collateral to support the team including information packs, PowerPoint decks, email banners and more, where appropriate.

Skills:

Essential –

  • Adobe Creative Suite preferred, or equivalent
  • Content creation
  • Passion for equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Strong written English
  • Creative thinking
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Time management and prioritisation
  • Initiative

Desirable –

  • Understanding of data and tech
  • Social media management experience
  • Working within brand guidelines
  • Interviewing (for content)
  • Video skills
  • Photography skills
  • Microsoft Teams

Qualifications:

This role would be suited towards a graduate in subjects such as graphic design, media and marketing, communications. However, a portfolio will be more heavily weighted than qualifications in the job application process, so please do not let your background be a barrier to application.
