As Commercial Business Manager, you will help lead the delivery of the Commercial reporting projects following our separation from Walmart – tracing data sources through, making sure data is migrated successfully, building new reports in the new environment, and helping business users navigate them.

The Commercial BI Manger role is responsible for leading the design, testing, training, and roll out of reporting, working with Commercial product owners, business analysts, data scientists, and SAP. The position will mean becoming the reporting expert on the new reports and how they fit into the end-to-end Commercial processes, as well as ensuring that the future data models replicate and improve on the current functionality. It will also involve re-building the existing Commercial Power BI reports in the future environment. This role will involve spending a lot of time in the new environment Alongside future Commercial reporting, the role will support the development of the current Commercial reporting environment in SQL, Alteryx, and Power BI.

Your role:

  • Understanding the reporting requirements across the Commercial product leads to help validate and troubleshoot the new reports
  • Understanding the current and future reporting landscape to identify and merge duplicate work
  • Checking data quality and coverage in the new environment
  • Build/rebuild existing reports in the new environment with the new data ecosystem
  • Help identify gaps to standard SAP operational reporting and work to overcome this
  • Support the product leads with the design of new reports and reporting developments
  • Work with product leads to build out the new article data models
  • Oversee reporting UAT from preparation to execution. This will include validating scenarios to test, identifying missing scenarios, executing tests, and raising defects, while ensuring fixes are fit for purpose
  • Work with the teams on building the training content, validate that material is clear and can be understood
  • Support training delivery of reports alongside product leads

About you:

  • Several years of data and analysis experience
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Strong skills in two or more of Alteryx, SQL, and Power BI
  • Ideally you have SAP experience, Power Automate experience, and Azure experience
  • Ideally you have commercial and management experience
  • You are comfortable working with business stakeholders to set priorities for the growing team
  • You can succinctly summarise developments and issues in the new environment to the wider team
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to understand and able to solve problems
  • Ability to work cross-functionally, challenging and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • A self-motivated individual able to manage time and use your own initiative to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent listener who can work quickly and collaboratively to implement cross-functional solutions
