Business Intelligence Analyst
We are a large central MI team with engagement across a variety of QBE EO business areas / divisions. Due to QBE EO investment in data our growing Data & MI team is evolving, and we are currently migrating to an azure cloud platform, as well as implementing ThoughtSpot; a new AI driven analytics platform for self- service MI allowing users to proactively find their own insights.
We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to help our dynamic and evolving Data & MI team to grow, meet the challenges of the business and shape new ways of working.
They will be able to leverage their data expertise and technical knowledge to provide quality solutions for consumers (both strategic and tactical) including data modelling, visualisations, parameterised reports, improved data workflow and complex multi data source solutions. They will work with business users to identify their requirements and, using Agile SCRUM methodology be able to deliver change iteratively, regularly engaging with stakeholders to develop an expert MI solution.
Your responsibilities for this role may include, but not limited to:
- Facilitate the design, development, and implementation of an advanced fit-for-purpose MI solutions
- Provide technical support to our end users on the use and application of data warehouse information and educate them in the usage of the reporting and analytical tools.
- Build and maintain strong productive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure service delivery meets business needs
- Ensure that high standards of service are maintained and developed to ensure continuous improvement and effective response to user requests/enquiries.
- Facilitate the identification and documentation of QBE business unit’s MI reporting requirements and where appropriate identify additional requirements
- Contribute to the business unit’s more complex and unique reporting requirements, provide project support, implement detailed rollout plans to optimize transition and usage.
- Undertake problem investigation, analysis and resolution to maintain and improve service to customers.
- Be aware of the Data Strategy in order to appropriately align effort with this direction and positively promote the department, division and company as a whole, in order to maximize brand leverage and develop team profile.

Skills needed to be successful in the role:
- Strong dashboarding capability (Power BI, Tableau etc.)
- Exposure to Power Platform stack would be advantageous (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Virtual Agents, Dax Language)
- Good understanding of SQL and/or Python experience writing complex queries, stored procedures and views.
- Experience with wide variety of (large volume) data sources and data analysis
- Experience with Modelling would be beneficial
- Experience in designing full and complete solutions, producing specifications, detailing solutions for approval by business consumers and for technical use by developers and testers
- Experience in a customer facing / support environment and in training end users
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to work with multidiscipline teams and individuals across the organisation
- Great problem-solving aptitude
- Comfort working in a fast paced and evolving environment
- Experience of Agile SCRUM methodology would be beneficial
