Dstl Digital Group (DDG) provide the essential digital tools and expertise that enables Dstl to deliver cutting edge Science and Technology. We have a multi-faceted role supporting not just Dstl, but also MOD, its agencies, the wider defence community and Other Government Departments (OGDs). Job description

In this role you will follow apprentice standard  ST0117 Business Analyst  and upon completion will receive the following formal recognition; BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT for Register of IT Technicians (RITTech) level 4. This course in done as blending learning which mean it will be a mixture of online and in person learning. As part of your role in Dstl you will learn to:

  • Identify and collate data sources relating to business improvements.
  • Apply structured techniques to identify needs, problems and opportunities for improvement.
  • Identify, design and present solutions of how technology can be used to deliver business improvements.
  • Document and manage requirements throughout the delivery lifecycle to help achieve successful business outcomes through new processes, data and/or technology.
  • Develop and manage stakeholder and partner relationships in order to understand business and user needs, and the impact of business change.

 

Person specification

 We are looking for someone who has:

  • An aspiration for helping organisations deliver business and digital change successfully.
  • A desire and ability to learn and apply new skills.
  • Well-developed verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of colleagues and clients, using a range of formats and appropriate language for audience.
  • Ability to effectively coordinate / prioritise your workload in order to deliver work on time.

Experience
We are not expecting lots of experience. We want to see that you are really interested in this area and can make a difference to real world problems. Of you do not have work experinace we will suggest you joing us in spetember and then start your apperntichsip in January to giveyou some experinace before strating the course.

Important Information

You must be 18 to work at Dstl, there for you must turn18 before September 2023 to apply for the apprenticeship.
Our work in defence, security and intelligence requires our employees to be UK Nationals who are able to gain a high level of security clearance to undertake the projects we are involved in to protect us from security threats. For this reason, only UK Nationals will be able to apply for this role. If you are an international or dual-national candidate, and you think you have the skills we need, please consider applying to any of our government, security or defence partners.

This role will require full UK security clearance and you should have resided in the UK for the past 5 years. For some roles Developed Vetting will also be required, in this case you should have resided in the UK for the past 10 years.
