The role
As a BI developer in our MAG Tech team, you’ll have the power of data at your fingertips. One of our key priorities is to digitise our business through better use of data and insights. You’ll be at the forefront of this mission, sourcing data from many disparate systems and transforming into a common data model to support dashboards and reports delivered by our data analysts & insights team, as well as business partners. Whether it’s integrating data on the performance of our security checkpoints; mining our data lake for insights on car parking and retail; or working across our IT and Operations teams to integrate new data sources to find better ways of visualizing real-time data to help manage our operation.
What will make you successful in the role?

You’ll have practical database development and performance tuning experience using SQL (required) and materialised views. You’ll also have demonstrable experience of ingesting and transforming complex disparate datasets within a warehouse solution; usage of web APIs desirable, as is Python experience. You’ll also have an understanding of dimensional data modelling (Kimball) and key principles. You’ll have experience creating Power BI reports / dashboards / apps in a collaborative environment with internal and external users as well as a demonstrable track record making improvements to existing solutions and identifying better ways of working.
