BI Developer

We’re looking for a Data Engineer/BI Developer to join our small BI team based in the Netherlands although remote working is an option for the right candidate. The role will primarily be developing on GCP and our BigQuery Datalake. Whilst based in the finance team you’ll get the chance to engage with all areas of the business. The team is responsible for all data in the Netherlands, Belgium and French businesses.
The successful candidate will be an effective communicator, someone who loves to get to the root of a problem. They enjoy investigating using analytical skills, then solving the problem by creating new automated processes to provide data to the business.
This means you’ll focus on:
- ETL using Python and DBT.
- Automating and documenting procedures through the use of Python, Apps Script and other Google Cloud products.
- Performing complex data interrogation, investigation, and reconciliation on data from across different programs.
- Liaising with the business to gather data requirements and translate into effective processes.
- Working with a wide range of datasets including Sales, Customer, Supply Chain and Stock.
What do I need?
Required skills and competencies:
- Expert knowledge of MYSQL/Bigquery or other versions of SQL
- Confident using Javascript/Apps Script or Python
- Expert knowledge of using Google Sheets or Excel
- Ability to fully communicate in English
- Ability to self manage time and workload to prioritise and meet deadlines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex requirements between technical and non-technical audiences.
Desirable skills and competencies:
- Experience of Data Studio, Looker or other BI dashboard tools
- Experience of Data pipeline software solutions such as DBT
- Previous experience working with a data analytics/business intelligence/Management Information team.
- French or Dutch language skills to work with our French and Dutch colleagues more effectively
