Head of PM – Control Tool & Data Capability

Salary: £75,000+ depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
- Leading the global development, deployment and onward management of an enterprise toolset and data convergence strategy for Project Management & Control (PM&C) across Group, Sector and Lines of Business
- Working collaboratively with leads across IM&T, Shared Services, PM&C teams (and other functions where there are cross-functional data requirements) to create business insights and support decision making by using PM&C tools and data.
- Exploring and assessing new capabilities that could enhance the PM&C capability by delivering improved solutions that drive increased efficiency and effectiveness in ways of working. This can involve new technology, exploiting existing technology and data, increasing people capability and improving processes
- Managing and assuring a collaborative governance framework that can respond to the needs of the business requirements
- Supporting the exploitation of capability (new and existing) and ensuring the delivery of benefits to the organisation
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- PM/ IT or Business Degree and / or relevant project management IM&T or Data Management experience
- Proven knowledge of working within a senior Data Analytics advisor role, implementing strategic change within enterprise toolset and data convergence project
- Comprehensive knowledge, understanding and experience of project management methodologies, processes, toolsets and governance
- Broad experience in project management and implementation of change initiatives, demonstrated in a professional role within a business or project
- Significant experience of leading and managing in a Project Management environment, in-depth knowledge of PM & Control tools and of the IT Function and relevant processes and ways of working
- Extensive experience of building relationships and negotiating outcomes with internal stakeholders with proven ability of influencing senior stakeholders to achieve business success
Desirable:
- APM Project Management Qualification or other PM qualification
- Post-graduate qualification in relevant subject (Business, IT, Project Management, Data Sciences)
- Membership of Professional Body

The Control Tool & Data Capability team:
You will be part of a Corporate Project Management Change team, working closely with a working group in the wider business, IM&T and the Chief Data Officer’s team. The team have an ambitious plan to drive improvements across the Project Management & Control function to enable BAE Systems to deliver its growing order book.
