Data will continue to transform PE strategy, evolving from a quantitative tool to an executive priority. This will see PE firms sharpen focus on the integrity of data, the granularity of data and their ability to access and analyze that data in a timely manner to provide actionable insights and improve decision-making.
Exit strategy will remain a key area of focus. As PE firms become even more data-led, the industry will continue to see a host of new metrics to build a much more holistic picture of how a company is performing now, and, with predictive analytics, will potentially fare in the future. Everything from customer service data, product revenue, transaction levels, retention rates, organic versus inorganic growth, ARR, to customer profiles and team performance metrics will be expected to play a part in forming this picture. These metrics will empower investors to go beyond looking at the ‘what’ of the performance, and instead expect management teams to use data to answer the ‘why’. For any business, the ability to provide the ‘why’ supported with broader and deeper datasets at exit will become critical to building confidence amongst investors and sealing the deal.
The rising trend of datafication will afford businesses a new opportunity to add tremendous value at pace. Simple things such as using data combined with AI to better understand and target customers, be effective in pricing strategy, accelerate product development and drive operational efficiencies are use cases that can be executed with minimal disruption. Through the ability to change the narrative of a business or the business model during a typical PE hold period lies scope to secure higher multiples and a greater valuation.

I lead data at E.ON Next and have been leading data teams for 10+ years, and hope to do it for many more. I do this role for three reasons;
When studying my undergraduate degree (Maths, Stats & Computing) – there were 3 women in a huge class, of which I was 1. I am pleased to say that things have changed. I am lucky to be surrounded by women in data at E.ON Next, but this isn’t the case everywhere. Now, as a mum, it is important to me that my daughter, who is 10 years old, believes she can specialise in anything she wants regardless of her gender, including data (fingers crossed).
I am really excited to partner with Women in Data!

I am a Data Team Manager at E.ON Next, overseeing Debt and Credit Risk data with a team of 9 data analysts, 3 data scientists, and 2 data engineers. With nearly a decade of experience in the data field, I’ve worked across a variety of industries including consulting, startups, telecommunications, and now a company in its scale-up phase. This diverse experience has given me a unique perspective on how the data landscape evolves as companies grow. I’m passionate about enabling organisations to become truly data-driven, applying my skills to ensure data empowers better decision-making at every stage. Beyond my professional achievements, I am a dedicated wife and mother of two young children.
Growing up as a Black woman in post-apartheid South Africa, I’m deeply committed to inclusive leadership. I actively foster environments where all voices, especially those from marginalised communities, feel safe and empowered to contribute. My educational background includes a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cape Town, Africa’s leading university, and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics with a focus on computer vision, a branch of machine learning. I bring both technical expertise and a strong sense of social responsibility to my role, creating spaces where innovation and inclusion thrive.
Being a woman in data means embracing the power of information, and the transformative potential of automation and AI, to drive change while navigating unique challenges in a traditionally male-dominated field. As a mom, it’s about balancing the drive to excel professionally with the commitment to my family. Working in data isn’t just about numbers or algorithms; it’s about uncovering insights that can shape strategic decisions, enable growth, and create value in ways that are inclusive and transformative.
As a Black woman and mother in data, I feel a responsibility to be a role model and advocate for diversity, showing that women—and people from all backgrounds—belong in this space. It’s rewarding to lead a team where I can foster an inclusive culture, one that celebrates diverse voices and empowers everyone to contribute meaningfully. Being a woman and mother in data means challenging biases, building community, and paving the way for others, while also modelling that it’s possible to pursue ambitious goals at work and at home. It’s about resilience, curiosity, and the passion to keep learning, growing, and inspiring those who will come after us.

My role has opened many doors, opportunities, and experiences for my personal and professional growth. Currently, I am responsible for communicating cyber threats across the organisation through data collection and analysis, sustaining a community of practice and developing strategies and policies.
I have a passion for equality, diversity, and inclusion and for being a role-model for women in cyber and data.

My adventure into the world of AI began in the mid-90s, pre-internet, as a Geographical Information Systems Analyst for the Australian Government. I quickly realized the immense value of data accuracy and cleanliness. Hungry for more challenges, I moved into the vibrant world of publishing at Lonely Planet Publications. Here, I understood the critical importance of project deliveries, cost efficiency vs. accuracy and digital publishing, witnessing the dawn of Google Maps and its transformative effect on the industry where I learnt that I would, where possible need to be at the forefront of data technology. Fuelled by my passion for exploration, I sold everything and travelled the world, eventually landing in the UK. My freelancing days were filled with diverse data projects, sharpening my skills and expanding my horizons. I found a home at Kimberly Clark Professional, where I turned raw data into actionable insights and honed my data engineering skills. This marked my first foray into data science, developing predictive churn models, stunning data visualizations, and natural language sentiment models. These experiences laid the groundwork for building digital marketing insights and eventually leading the data team. Recognizing the impact of ML and AI seven years ago, I transitioned to a small startup, honing my data and AI skills while leading projects and teams, especially in NLP. This path led me to EDF, where I initially served as a consultant before becoming a full-time member in the EDF Blue Lab incubator as an AI Lead. Today, I am at the helm, driving AI innovation to operational scale deployments. I oversee strategy, governance, and the responsible deployment of AI, working alongside my talented award-winning team. With a profound understanding of AI technologies and strong management abilities, I ensure foster innovation within my team. My commitment to responsible AI practices upholds transparency and ethical standards in every initiative and support EDF in understanding AI Governance practices building their AI strategic future. With over 25 years of experience working with data, my leadership and passion for advancing AI technologies empower EDF UK to achieve extraordinary results, enhancing sustainability and operational efficiency. I take pride in contributing to a culture of excellence and responsibility, shaping the future of energy innovation.
