E.ON Next is partnering with Women in Data because we are better together. We believe in creating a culture where everyone feels respected, valued and has a sense of belonging. Through our inclusive culture, everyone is empowered to grow, thrive and to be the best they can.
Within the data team we believe passionately that we add greater value as a diverse team. With 48% of our Data team female, this partnership will provide the platform to connect with others within the wider data community to learn, develop and share their knowledge and experience, working alongside us to continue to maintain and grow the diversity within our team. We are excited by this partnership and look forward to working with Women in Data.
We are flexible. We’re challenging the stereotypes around flexible working to fit our diverse lives. We create a flexible hybrid approach where you’re trusted and empowered to deliver the best for you and our customers.
Data is at the heart of E.ON Next today, enabling the decisions we make across the organisation, driving operational processes and importantly exposing data to customers directly.
As we look forward, data will become even more valuable as well as the use of AI. We are already seeing a growth in the number of use cases and confidence around the use of Gen AI and can only expect this to continue to grow. Specifically, within the energy sector, data is critical to enable customers to better manage their energy consumption and costs. Visualising huge amounts of personalised data effectively and in a timely way across the customer’s connected home will be key to continue to advance over the upcoming years, along with providing a great digital personalised customer experience.
Behind the scenes, it is essential we continue to look after our data foundations, ensuring our data is trusted; connected, reliable, timely, secure and easily discoverable. This is a theme we believe should be here for many years to come.
At E.ON Next, we’re determined to make new energy work for everyone. We want to do that by helping remove the barriers of the energy transition, so that our customers can reduce both their bills and their environmental impact, by saving CO2.
We’re the newest face amongst the E.ON group of companies. E.ON Next is all about creating a sustainable future, now. We’re moving our energy in the right direction, one little-big step at a time. Join us in our mission to bring feel-good energy.
We’re also here to make this whole energy thing way easier for our customers. That means providing exceptional service and using state-of-the-art tech to do it.

I have been working in the data industry for the past 8 years since earning a Master’s degree in Mathematics. I began my career as a Data Analyst before transitioning into Data Science, gaining experience across the finance, aviation, and energy sectors.
One of my favourite things about being a woman in data is the opportunity to get stuck into problem-solving, using data to uncover patterns and insights that lead to solutions. Personally, I find it incredibly satisfying and rewarding when I’ve been working on a complex task and finally crack it. I believe data is everywhere, and the industry itself is constantly evolving with new technologies and techniques. While it can feel challenging to keep up, it also offers endless opportunities for learning and growth.
Imposter syndrome is something many of us, especially women, experience. However, by connecting with others—many of whom are also women in data—I’ve found that sharing our experiences and challenges is incredibly empowering. Hearing their stories encourages me to keep pushing forward, and it’s truly uplifting to be part of such a supportive community.

I found my passion for data during my university studies and pursued a transition into tech by furthering my self taught programming skills and capitalising on my transferable skills. I have been able to make impactful contributions on a variety of projects, across financial services, regulation and energy, in my career to date. I credit my neurodiversity for how I navigate the space and the challenges within it.
I’m passionate about ‘paying it forwards’ and therefore engage with advocacy, outreach and volunteering initiatives. I have been featured in books, podcasts and other publications. In my free time, I enjoy cooking/baking, staying active and gardening.
Data is such a fast moving field that there are always areas to learn more about and this feeds into my love of learning. Working in data has allowed me to combine my growing technical knowledge with desire to contribute to deliver meaningfully to help people.
Being a part of the Women in Data community has been a big part of my professional journey. I have both been able to connect with the peers and role models, through the flagship events and the Lunch and Learn Webinars. But also have been able to give back to the community through outreach with Girls in Data. Women in Data empowers and equips me to turn up authentically and champion underrepresented groups.

My professional journey as a woman in data began over 11 years ago when I joined E.ON as an MI Analyst as my first job after graduating with a Masters in Maths. As a Maths graduate, I have always had a love for numbers and problem solving and being a data analyst allows me to do what I love every day.
Currently I am working as a Principal Data Analyst within our Regulations Data Team at E.ON Next and I can honestly say that I absolutely love my job. Every day is different and there is never a dull moment which makes coming to work every day something to look forward to.
I am fortunate to have been offered great opportunities whilst working at E.ON and E.ON Next, including funding my studies to become CIMA qualified, which have had a huge impact on my professional development and allowed me to try my hand at a number of different data-based roles within the organisation. Being a part of the Data Team at E.ON Next means being surrounded by data-driven, diverse individuals where professional growth is encouraged and collaboration is key; it’s a team I’m proud to be a part of.

I am a Data Team Manager at E.ON Next, supporting customer contact operations. My role is all about creating value from data, aligning my team’s activity with the needs of the business. I need to understand the problems that senior leaders in customer operations are trying to solve and devise a data strategy and resource plan that will address those problems.
I started my data journey in academia. I had to learn statistics and data skills to complete my masters and doctoral research. A few years after graduation, I moved into industry. Data has always been at the centre of my career but I have been trying to maintain the breadth of data application by embracing a variety of roles. I have been an insight analyst, data scientist, strategy analyst, strategy team manager, and data science manager before joining E.ON Next.
I lead data at E.ON Next and have been leading data teams for 10+ years, and hope to do it for many more. I do this role for three reasons;
When studying my undergraduate degree (Maths, Stats & Computing) – there were 3 women in a huge class, of which I was 1. I am pleased to say that things have changed. I am lucky to be surrounded by women in data at E.ON Next, but this isn’t the case everywhere. Now, as a mum, it is important to me that my daughter, who is 10 years old, believes she can specialise in anything she wants regardless of her gender, including data (fingers crossed).
I am really excited to partner with Women in Data!

I am a Data Team Manager at E.ON Next, overseeing Debt and Credit Risk data with a team of 9 data analysts, 3 data scientists, and 2 data engineers. With nearly a decade of experience in the data field, I’ve worked across a variety of industries including consulting, startups, telecommunications, and now a company in its scale-up phase. This diverse experience has given me a unique perspective on how the data landscape evolves as companies grow. I’m passionate about enabling organisations to become truly data-driven, applying my skills to ensure data empowers better decision-making at every stage. Beyond my professional achievements, I am a dedicated wife and mother of two young children.
Growing up as a Black woman in post-apartheid South Africa, I’m deeply committed to inclusive leadership. I actively foster environments where all voices, especially those from marginalised communities, feel safe and empowered to contribute. My educational background includes a degree in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Cape Town, Africa’s leading university, and a Master’s degree in Applied Mathematics with a focus on computer vision, a branch of machine learning. I bring both technical expertise and a strong sense of social responsibility to my role, creating spaces where innovation and inclusion thrive.
Being a woman in data means embracing the power of information, and the transformative potential of automation and AI, to drive change while navigating unique challenges in a traditionally male-dominated field. As a mom, it’s about balancing the drive to excel professionally with the commitment to my family. Working in data isn’t just about numbers or algorithms; it’s about uncovering insights that can shape strategic decisions, enable growth, and create value in ways that are inclusive and transformative.
As a Black woman and mother in data, I feel a responsibility to be a role model and advocate for diversity, showing that women—and people from all backgrounds—belong in this space. It’s rewarding to lead a team where I can foster an inclusive culture, one that celebrates diverse voices and empowers everyone to contribute meaningfully. Being a woman and mother in data means challenging biases, building community, and paving the way for others, while also modelling that it’s possible to pursue ambitious goals at work and at home. It’s about resilience, curiosity, and the passion to keep learning, growing, and inspiring those who will come after us.

As a Puerto Rican woman in data, I bring a unique perspective shaped by my journey as a journalist and marketer in the U.S. to data storytelling in the UK. My career began with a passion for written and multi-media storytelling, where I noticed how impactful the right message can have. I continued to build upon this skill by integrating data analysis, which allowed me to communicate data into meaningful and actionable insights. With experience at industry leaders like A.S. Watson, Disney+, and now E-On Next, I enjoy transforming data into stories.
Recognizing the underrepresentation of women and minorities in data, I am committed to advocating for greater inclusion in this field. I believe that diverse voices enrich our understanding and enhance the stories we tell. My goal is to empower other women, especially those from minority backgrounds, to develop data skillsets and share their unique perspectives. Together, we can transform the data landscape into a more inclusive and vibrant space for all.

My career in data started just over 11 years ago after I joined E.ON through their graduate program but my passion for data was sparked earlier during my time at university whilst completing my Masters in Chemistry. Little did I know that analysing the results of experiments using Total Internal Reflection Fluorescence spectroscopy would lead me to my role today, managing a fantastic team of data analysts, scientists and engineers!
I’ve done a range of roles during my data career including campaign analyst, pricing analyst and insight analyst, whilst in the last couple of years I have been navigating my first data leadership role – which has been both challenging and rewarding in equal measure. What I love most about my job is the people (including many amazing women) that I get to work alongside and learn from every day not only in data, but also in our wider organisation. I also love the sheer breadth of opportunity that is afforded to me – data really is at the heart of everything! Perhaps most importantly, I feel so lucky to have a job that I genuinely enjoy, working as part of a team that not only values my professional contribution but also my life outside of work which enables me to do the other job I am passionate about – being a mum to my 7 year old daughter!

My lifelong fascination with numbers began at an early age; I recall effortlessly memorising birth dates and phone numbers. Maths was always one of my favourite subjects in school. This natural affinity, combined with a deep curiosity about the mechanics of the world and people’s behaviour, has led me to build a career focused on interpreting and giving meaning to data.
My career journey has taken me from forecasting long-term economic trends as an Economist, through Data Science—following my MSc in Complexity Science—and finally into Data Engineering.
What I enjoy most about working with data is the field’s constant evolution, offering endless opportunities for learning. As I explain to my children, my job is to make “red pipelines green”, essentially acting as a virtual plumber.

I started my career as a data analyst with a social science and statistics background, which led me to later pursue a Master’s in Data Science. I’ve worked across different sectors from healthcare to consulting and now energy. Each move has challenged me and taught me different ways of thinking about data and its impact. What keeps me engaged is the problem-solving and variety of people and teams I get to work with across a business. Every challenge is different – it’s about finding the right data science approach for the problem.
Currently, I’m working in generative AI, a field that’s moving so quickly that I’m constantly learning and adapting. Within this space, a big part of my focus is on evaluation – making sure these systems actually work reliably for people using them.
I’m a mum to three boys! And being outnumbered at home has made me even more aware of how important representation is. That’s why my role as Girls in Data steerco lead is important. If we can reach girls early, show them that women like us exist in these roles, we can change their sense of what’s possible.

My journey in data has spanned 8 years, starting with curiosity about the impact data can have in shaping the decisions that surround us and how numbers can tell stories. I’ve had the privilege of working across diverse spaces, from Deloitte in the Big 4, to product-focused problem solving at Uber, and now at E.ON Next. Along the way, I’ve learned that data isn’t just about metrics or dashboards; it’s about people. Supporting businesses with data to solve real customer problems and helping companies be more considerate has been incredibly rewarding.
Working specifically in affordability and vulnerability has made me realise the direct impact data can have on people’s lives. Being able to make decisions that genuinely help customers is both motivating and humbling.
What excites me most is that every dataset, every challenge, is a learning opportunity. I’ve loved seeing the inspiration, resilience, and creativity of every woman I’ve met along this journey, their perspectives make this field richer and more impactful. I feel lucky to be part of a community where we lift each other up and drive meaningful change through data.
