Join Women in Data and QuantumBlack for an evening of insightful talks, networking and an interactive workshop at their offices in London.

Helen Mayhew – Increasing women’s representation in the Data sector

Martha Imprialou – Transforming patient outcomes using Advanced analytics

This interactive intimate event will explore the under representation of women in the data sector and the collective actions we can take to address this.

The session will include a short talk from Helen Mayhew, QuantumBlack’s COO Europe, who will discuss the current state of play for women in the data industry and touch on best practice initiatives. Following this, you are invited to take part in interactive roundtable discussions with other guests. We would invite you to bring thoughts, suggestions and observations from your own experience to these discussions as we look to identify practical and strategic steps we can all take for a more gender balanced data industry. You will also have the opportunity to hear from Principal Analytics Engagement Manager at QuantumBlack, Martha Imprialou, who will discuss example applications of predictive analytics using real-world data, such as clinical decision support tools used at point of care, and tools for comparison of different treatments.

Name: Helen Mayhew
Job title: Chief Operating Officer, Europe, QuantumBlack

Helen brings her analytical skills to diverse projects, ranging from commercial expansion to front-line team performance optimisation. She has guided leading organisations on their journeys, advising top executives and leaders on the potential for insight and innovation through advanced analytics. As COO, she is scaling the company and its impact around the world as she helps clients do the same.

Helen has a particular interest is building clients’ analytical organisations and skills, having honed these herself founding the McKinsey’s Analytics Academy. She is also responsible for progressing applied ethical and sustainable AI across our projects.

Presentation: Increasing women’s representation in the Data sector

Interactive session on increasing the number of women working in data, kicked off with a short presentation followed by best practice sharing and problem solving the actions we can collectively take to support our industry in this respect. Specifically, Helen Mayhew will share the current facts on women’s representation in the data industry, with a particular focus on tech profiles in ML and AI. She will share some of the things QB is doing to increase representation as an introduction to best practice sharing. She will also invite the participants to think about the macro actions we need to take as an industry together to address this problem.

Job title: Principal, Analytics Engagement Manager, QuantumBlack

Martha is an Engagement Manager in McKinsey’s London Office. She serves pharmaceutical and healthcare clients, with a specialization in evidence generation. Martha has extensive experience in use case execution in advance analytics with blended teams of data scientists, data engineers, technical architects and UX/UI designers, as well as helping clients with their strategy, organization and operating models to help them deliver impact from analytics at scale.

Presentation: Transforming patient outcomes using Advanced analytics

Real-world healthcare data, such as electronic medical records or insurance claims, offer a wealth of information on a patient’s healthcare journey. Coupled with advanced analytics, they can help physicians make the right diagnosis and improve delivery of healthcare to patients. In this talk we will discuss example applications of predictive analytics using real-world data, such as clinical decision support tools used at point of care, and tools for comparison of different treatments.
