NOMINATIONS HAVE NOW CLOSED

If you are looking for inspiration in your career, look no further than the Twenty in Data & Tech, brought to you by Women in Data®.

Twenty in Data & Tech was created to showcase women in these sectors for their success, innovation, leadership or courage.

Each series, our nominations are carefully judged to curate exceptional talent and passion to bring you the very best that the sector has to offer.  Over the years, we have awarded 100 women in data and tech – each with their own set of superpowers.  They work actively as mentors; sharing experiences in peer groups; advising in schools and publishing content to inspire women at all stages of their careers.  The search is on for the next ‘Twenty’ and, as such, we are incredibly excited to have opened nominations for Series 6.  Nominate yourself or your role models below!

Why nominate?

It is no secret that having positive role models increases one’s potential.  If you have been fortunate enough to meet an inspirational woman, nominating her for the Twenty in Data & Tech could give her the recognition that she deserves, whilst providing other women the opportunity to feel as inspired as you have.  This could be someone that taught you at university, perhaps you worked with them, or even have never met, but their work has given you motivation and empowerment.  That person could even be you!

Each Twenty in Data & Tech awardee will be photographed by the exceptionally talented and multi-award-winning, Sane Seven – https://www.saneseven.com/.  We have worked with Sane Seven for each series to date; their portraits and professionalism are second to none.

Awardees will be revealed to the public at our in-person Flagship event, set to take place in March 2024, where they will be invited to the stage.  Thereafter, information about the Twenty in Data & Tech, Series 6 will be hosted on the Women in Data® website and in numerous media articles.  The accolade has been life-changing for many previous awardees, with the award opening up doorways to promotions, speaking opportunities, greater exposure and media celebration of their achievements.

The judging process

Our judging panel consists of previous awardees and one male ally, and led by Payal Jain, Chair of Women in Data®.

  1. The Twenty in Data and Tech recognises women at all levels of their career. The judges are briefed on identifying Rising Stars, Data/AI Scientists, Data Engineers, mid-level and C-Suite leaders and Entrepreneurs.  There are no limits on the number of awardees by category
  2. The judging panel will be presented with the full list of entries and their corresponding categories
  3. Each judge will select their top 20 and commenting on each as to why they have been chosen. Votes on judges’ connections are strictly prohibited and this will be crosschecked during the final stage
  4. The votes will be collated and passed to Payal. Payal will collate judges votes.  Payal may request that interviews are carried out at this stage to understand more about the nominees as input into the final decision.  Interviews will be carried out by one of the judges, accompanied by a member of the Women in Data® team
  5. Payal will finalise the Twenty in Data & Tech selection based on judges votes and the outcome of the interviews held
  6. All self-nominees and nominators will be informed of their status once the final selection has been made
  7. Twenty in Data & Tech awardees will be announced in March 2024 along with the rationale for their recognition
