Twenty in Data and Technology Series 7 Nominations

judging process

All nominees will be presented to our Round 1 panel of judges. There is a 3-stage shortlist process:

Our Commitment to Fairness

Women in Data® are taking the following measures throughout the judging process to ensure transparency, reduce bias and prevent potential conflicts of interests:

  • It is standard procedure to omit each nominee’s name from the nomination form after submission.

  • We do not tamper with any supporting evidence attached to a nomination form. This, therefore, means a nominee forfeits anonymity in the judging process should this supporting evidence include any identifying information such as your full name and your company name.

  • The names of our judging panel will be announced after the application closes.

  • Our ‘Twenty in Data and Tech’ cohort is carefully hand-picked by a panel consisting of industry experts, previous awardees and one male ally, all led by the Chair of Women in Data®.

  • We do not use artificial intelligence at any stage of our judging process

The Selection Procedure

  1. The Twenty in Data and Tech recognises women at all levels of their career. The judges are briefed on identifying Rising Stars, Data/AI Scientists, Data Engineers, mid-level and C-Suite leaders and Entrepreneurs. There are no limits on the number of awardees by category.

  2. The judging panel will be presented with the full list of entries and their corresponding categories.

  3. Each judge will select their top 20, commenting their reasons for each selection. Votes on judges’ connections are strictly prohibited and this will be crosschecked during the final stage7.

  4. The Chair of Women in Data® will then collate the judges’ votes. The Chair may request interviews at this final stage to inform the final decision. Interviews will be carried out by one of the judges, accompanied by a member of the Women in Data® team.

  5. The Chair will finalise the ‘Twenty in Data & Tech’ selection based on judges’ votes and interview outcomes.

  6. All self-nominees and nominators will be informed of their status once the final selection has been made.

  7. Twenty in Data & Tech awardees will be publicly announced in 2025 along with the rationale for their recognition
