Listen to the background to the growth of Women in Data since 2015. Women in Data’s objectives include encouragement and gender parity in data roles from entry level to board, which requires collaboration with men (not ‘beard bashing’). Women in Data cite a 12% uplift in female placements and the impact of the Twenty in Data and Technology awardees as role models among recent tangible successes.
Roisin and Rachel were invited to talk about the growth of Women in Data, just at the time when this year’s 1000-delegate event was announced. Roisin and Rachel said, “There’s big need for forums, support and education for women in data. We are overjoyed with the success of Twenty Women in Data and Technology, co-promoted with The Female Lead, which we expect to surpass expectations this year. Most importantly, we are seeing signs of change, with more appointments of women in senior roles and the growing understanding that gender diversity translates to better business.”
