Your role
As a Senior Manager in our Risk Analytics practice you will be working collaboratively across the data, analytics and AI domains, helping some of the largest, most interesting organisations in the world imagine, deliver and run the future - transforming complex business requirements into practical, implementable solutions.

Within our Risk Analytics Insurance team you will have the opportunity to gain a breadth of insight across a diverse range of prestigious insurance clients both in the UK and internationally. Your Responsibilities

  • Managing the delivery of client engagements, ranging from high value advisory work, through to large scale execution of data,and analytical transformation projects with our global insurance clients
  • Developing and managing a portfolio of senior client relationships across our largest and most important clients
  • Identifying and converting a pipeline of client opportunities to help drive and scale our insurance business
  • Cultivating and closing client opportunities by delivering proposals which exceed expectations
  • Positioning yourself to best advise on an enterprise data solution to cater to the clients' and projects' storage needs and to enable batch and streaming data ingestion, transformation and analytics.
  • Contributing to the development of innovative products and services that respond to market developments and the changing risk landscape.
  • Supporting the development of reusable assets from ongoing engagements, from frameworks to utilities, and connecting with global engineering teams to harness our broader capabilities and knowledge.
  • Developing the people around you to create a network of specialists we can draw from to support clients in their data objectives.

Location: London and regional offices - frequent domestic travel for client-based projects, with significant opportunities for international travel if appropriate.

Your professional experience

  • Extensive practical experience in data engineering and data architecture design, ideally around data infrastructure, developing batch and streaming pipelines, and implementing data warehousing and data lakes within the financial sector.
  • Strong planning, organisation and people management skills.
  • Understanding and application of Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
  • Managing large multi-disciplinary teams and following agile delivery processes
  • Experience of building relationships- particularly with C-Suite level stakeholders and successful entrepreneurs
  • Comfortable working as a team to help build a pipeline of sales opportunities across a portfolio of clients
  • Vision and appetite to grow and scale a business
  • Excellent commercial awareness and business acumen, including specifically a good understanding of data architecture, Information management, application of AI and visualization tools
  • The ability to identify client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches.
  • Demonstrate the ability to constructively evaluate and work in a collaborative environment.
  • Experience working with senior management to understand the data vision, review and recommend a data strategy that fits the client's profile and deliver complex solutions that drive commercial value.
  • Experience and willingness to work in the insurance sector, with knowledge of the Lloyd’s and London Market insurance industry, and an understanding of their challenges and opportunities in the data and innovation space.


  • Experience designing and implementing event-based architectures with stream data ingestion and processing.
  • Exposure to data science tooling (e.g. R, Python, Alteryx, SAS, SPSS) and Big Data tools (e.g. Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with a number of data manipulation tools and languages (e.g. Spark, Python, R, Impala, Hive, Pig, SQL).
  • Experience working with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Experience working with workflow management platforms (e.g. Airflow, Luigi, Dagster).
  • Experience designing, implementing or developing DataOps services (including monitoring, DQ measurement and alerting).
  • Experience of working in agile delivery teams, with a DevOps ways of working to continuously deliver iterative deployments, and experience managing this through Jira, Git Repositories, Confluence, or similar.
  • Evidence of taking a managerial role on projects delivering technical change.
  • Experience designing, implementing or developing DataOps services.
  • Experience working in the Lloyds and London insurance market.
