As a Data Lead in DWP Digital, you'll be able to influence huge change and make a lasting difference as we transform of the DWP's Digital Workplace.

You'll join the leadership team in DWP's Health & Disability team and support the Health Transformation programme, one of DWP’s highest priority workstreams.

By putting better tech, tooling and training in the hands of our colleagues, we're empowering them to work better, be more efficient and more effectively support the millions of people who interact with DWP every day.

You’ll need deep technical expertise in one or more areas such as data engineering, data governance, data science or performance analysis.

You’ll be the expert we come to for advice, guidance and leadership on the role and value of data as we change how DWP works.

Join our team and put data at the heart of decisions and delivery of Digital Workspaces in DWP.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?

  • You have proven experience in a technical data role supporting and providing leadership across multiple domains such as data science, performance analysis or data engineering.
  • You have a proven track record of building, managing and coordinating relationships with senior stakeholders across organisational boundaries of large complex organisations.
  • You have managed and mentored technical data professionals to deliver high quality data products and analytics that meet user and business needs.
  • You shape appropriate communications with and between technical and non-technical stakeholders to inform, persuade and influence.
  • You have experience in leading teams with resilience in the face of complex challenges.

You'll join us in your choice of one our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle or Sheffield.

We also have all the tools and tech we need to enable our people to work flexibly. We work a hybrid model with a mix of home working and sometime in the office.

In return for your skills, we offer a competitive salary of up to £89,995 p.a.

You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97% (Worth up to £22k/year).

You'll get a generous leave package starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus all the usual bank holidays, and the option to take extra days off on flexi leave.
