Talon has a great opportunity for a confident, proactive analyst to join our growing Product and Data team. This team sit on a huge amount of first- and third-party data which could unlock a wealth of insights to make our business more efficient and generate additional income. This role will make an important contribution to supporting the team’s mission to deliver data-driven solutions for our clients but also make the business more effective in achieving its Global objectives.


As a Data Analyst within the Product and Data team, your core responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluate and streamline internal processes, helping to create efficiencies
  • Think strategically and creatively to produce analysis from the wealth of data available which creates new insights for the business and our clients and helps to generate revenue
  • Produce analysis from campaigns and contribute towards creating insights which helps to solve audience targeting and campaign planning challenges
  • Using data visualisation software & techniques to explain and showcase analysis and make analysis-based recommendations to internal and external stakeholders
  • Accurately analyse historical buying and campaign data to identify trends which can be applied to future planning
  • Evaluate the reliability and accuracy of data supplied by third party partners
  • Training more junior members of the team in using relevant data analytics tools and software
  • Building strong working relationships and collaborating closely with internal teams & external partners
  • Producing ad hoc reports and analysis and contribute to other tasks as required
  • Keeping up to date with the latest industry reports and data regulations and help the team to make informed business decisions about any opportunities or challenges in this space
  • Developing a thorough understanding of Talon’s proprietary technology stack


Behaviours/Skills/Knowledge/Personal Attributes:

Type of technical, specialised, professional skills or personal attributes that are required to achieve the key outputs above. Some examples are:

  • 3+ years of work experience in BI, Analytics, Data Science or comparable fields, ideally within the media industry
  • Experience of working in a fast-moving team delivering solutions for clients or business partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic, love to help and is naturally solution and resolution focused.
  • The ability to manipulate data, reporting and API tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects, Postman, Cognos or similar
  • Knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Highly organised, self-motivated and pro-active
  • Knowledge of SQL or AWS/Athena and/or experience in using other coding languages is a bonus
